A brighter future

In 1991 a group of former students organised a reunion to celebrate 90 years of education at Timaru College, Timaru Technical College and Mountainview High School.

The 90th Jubilee was well attended and turned an unexpected profit. The organising committee, wanting to see this profit put to good use, so established a trust to provide scholarships for Mountainview High School students going on to tertiary study. The 90th Jubilee scholarship was awarded each year to a deserving individual who showed great potential while facing challenges in attending further study.

In 2019 the trustees were facing a perfect storm of diminishing interest rates, increasing compliance and trouble finding new trustees. It was then that they turned to the Aoraki Foundation for help to further the legacy started by the 90th Jubilee.
